Have you ever been out at a big networking event, and jotted down someone’s number only to have something spill on their name? Yeah, that happened to me. So here I have a number that I know is a potential customer worth over a thousand dollars and nothing but a smear of ink and coffee where her name was.
Luckily I have a subscription to a Reverse Lookup! Otherwise I probably would not have closed the deal.
Though there are free services that provide lookups, they seldom have up to date databases, and with the way people move around these days, you need to know that the information you’re accessing is accurate and timely.
There are a lot of potential business uses for a reverse lookup service. For instance, a home improvement contractor who drives down the street and spots the only house that hasn’t yet had its windows upgraded can look up the address and find out the owner’s name and phone number.
Ditto for the security alarm salesman. You can find out who owns the unknown phone number on a phone bill. What about the person who’s name doesn’t come through on the caller ID but who seemed interested in your service, but who called at an inopportune time? The savings to you in business retention alone make this service worthwhile.
